The Marijuana Patients Organization characterizes Michigan House Bill 4271 as a legislative backlash and an improper use of the Legislature’s power, because it ignores the will of the overwhelming majority of the people who supported the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act ballot initiative, by providing a minority veto to local legislators who wish to ban medical marijuana dispensaries.
This law is an assault on representative government and an affront to democratic principles.
