This week the world learned of the tragedy that claimed over 150 souls aboard a commercial airplane over the French Alps. The pilot, Andreas Lubitz was psychotic, had been institutionalized for several months and was prescribed selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors or serotonin-specific reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). It is believed Lubitz intentionally crashed the commercial jet he was piloting.
Selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors or serotonin-specific reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are a class of compounds typically used as antidepressants in the treatment of major depressive disorder and anxiety disorders.
The evidence that SSRI psychiatric drugs causes violence is staggering. More than 20 international drug warnings cite violence, hostility, mania, aggression, psychosis and even homicidal thoughts as side effects. Individuals under the influence of SSRI and committing acts of senseless violence include Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis, the Columbine killer, Aurora movie theater gunman and Fort Hood shooter Ivan Lopez.
Oh, and also, Adam Lanza from Sandy Hook was prescribed SSRI’s, as well.
