The Universal Life Church Monastery is contacting you to ask for your support and partnership as part of a major pro- medical marijuana policy statement we will be making this September. Our statement is significant because we are the largest online church in the world and the first of such organizations to make a policy statement on the subject of medical marijuana.
The ULC Monastery is an online church based in Seattle, WA. The Universal Life Church has ordained more than 20 million people, and we have ministries located around the world. We communicate with our members through a variety of channels, such as our church newsletter, blog, Facebook page, and the front page of our website, which receives over 10,000 views every day.
Our organization has prepared an official church policy statement on why we believe state and federal restrictions on medical marijuana should be loosened. Our policy statement discusses medical marijuana reforms in detail, and declares the following:
- Marijuana has significant, scientifically proven medical benefits.
- Medical marijuana sales can greatly increase state and federal tax revenues.
- Enforcement of anti-medical marijuana laws ultimately wastes government resources.
- Marijuana sales for medical purposes should be legalized across the country.
We need the support of organizations such as yours in order to spread this message and effect any real change. It would be greatly appreciated if you would review our stance on this subject, and consider including it as a news article on your website. We would be happy to provide you with our own written article which you may use at your leisure.
We believe our statement and the topic of medical marijuana reform is newsworthy and that your readers will appreciate our message, especially given the fact that states like California and Colorado are now cracking down on medical marijuana dispensaries.
Furthermore, we invite Marijuana Patients Organization and it’s members to give us suggestions on how to ignite pro-medical marijuana support amongst the millions of Universal Life Church ministers; our online church is new to medical marijuana advocacy and is eager to learn all that we can on the subject so that we can further its cause.
