On or about February 15, 2012, the Michigan Medical Marihuana Registry Program will be sending out “NOTICE OF APPROVAL” letters to qualifying patients who have submitted a valid original or renewal application prior to December 31, 2011 and have not yet received their Medical Marihuana Registry cards. If the qualifying patient has designated a primary caregiver, they will also be receiving a “NOTICE OF APPROVAL” letter. This letter provides notice that the patient or caregiver registry card has been approved.
The letter will:
Identify the person by name
Identify whether the person is a Qualifying Patient or Caregiver
Provide the Patient or Caregiver Registry Identification Number
State the Issue Date
State the Expiration Date
State whether or not the person is allowed to possess marihuana plants
Indicate the name of the designated caregiver (if applicable)
Indicate the name of the qualifying patient to whom the caregiver is connected
The NOTICE OF APPROVAL letters should not be copied as any copies of the letters are VOID.
Law enforcement officials and prosecuting attorneys have also been provided with this information.
