Several ways that marijuana helps me

This article was originally published on the Marijuana Patients Organization site on November 26, 2013.

As a patient with Fibromyalgia, Degenerative disc disease, and Rheumatoid Arthritis, among other chronic illnesses; at 56 years old, I have been in pain for almost twenty years. I am not a regular marijuana user, mostly because as an asthmatic, smoking tends to increase breathing difficulties. I also have a pain contract with a doctor who does not believe in marijuana use. This means I wait until my pain is at it’s worst before I will try it and if I have a doctor’s appointment within 3-4 weeks, I will not use it for fear of losing my pain management doc. I do not know of any dispensaries locally and have tried making oil for pain relief with some results.

Where can I find more info on making oils, edibles, etc to bypass smoking for intake? It is amazing the instantaneous relief I get after suffering almost to the breaking point before taking a couple of puffs. I pray my state soon follows the examples of Washington and Colorado to reduce the stigma of medical marijuana. It is crazy to me that a plant that grows naturally makes good medicine, hempseed is great for nutrition, for cloth, yarns, paper and a wide variety of goods. In this day and age we should be going for remedies that help people without multiple side effects and products that are more natural from sustainable sources and don’t have to mass create toxins in their development.

Thank you for the work you do and hopefully the grass roots movement will spread across the nation.
