The state of Michigan is required to report to their legislature on a yearly basis data regarding the medical marijuana program. It is estimated there are currently 173,315 registered marijuana patients in the State, and that number will likely grow to 300,000 in 2014.
Based on the average growth rate over the past 5 years, the number of current patients and a legislative fix that extended cards to two years from one, it is a safe bet that Michigan will be home to 300,000 medical marijuana patients by the end of 2014 (3% of the population).
