While I cannot speak for all lupus patients, I can attest to the wonderful benefits that marijuana has brought to several women I have known throughout my life.
You see I am a caregiver that assists multiple women living with lupus, patients that turn to marijuana when they have flare ups. Some of the strongest women I know live with this dreaded disease but do it so gracefully. Denying medicine and benefits to them strips their dignity, and for many, their only source of relief, less some very large needle injections.
Yesterday I read that a lupus patient, a nurse, was fired for being a patient and then denied her unemployment benefits by the State of Michigan, the story went on to explain how her case was overturned by a very courageous Mason, MI judge.
Stories from strong men and women that are living with lupus will help to advance the legitimate use of marijuana. This is why I choose to contribute to the Lupus Foundation of America (lupus.org).
The Lupus Foundation has remained silent on the medical marijuana issue, likely due their much needed federal funding that demands so, and will not help lupus patients by educating or allowing patients to share their experiences openly among their forums and discussions groups.
So my request from you, when you make your next donation, remind the Lupus Foundation that you know a lupus patient that lives a better life with the help of medical marijuana. GIVE HERE >>
