With recent legislation in the Michigan State Senate that would expand the States current dispensary legislation, there has been an influx in new patient registration.
The Medical Marijuana Dispensary Association, a Michigan based collection of midwest dispensary and caregiving operations, reports that new patient registrations were up 41% based on last year new patient registration figures. Information was collected through several physician groups that specialize in cannabis prescriptions. The doctors maintain 50% of the written annual certifications, and proves to be the leader in reporting data.
Trevor Morris, a board member of the MMDA states, “The only reason people go through the process to get a card is to go to a dispensary. More dispensaries equals what we are witnessing, more doctors seeing patients to get a card.”
Michigan has become the fastest growing state in regards to patient prescriptions when compared to all other medical marijuana states. The state has achieved a greater percentage of population in a far greater timeframe than any other state. Michigan is ripe for cannabis use, says the data.
2014 new patient data will not be reported to the legislature until 2015, but early polls indicate nearly a doubling of the states current 150,00 patients.

Michigan has more pot smokers and more dispensaries operating than most people know. Detroit hustles harder.
