What kind of requests do we get at the Marijuana Patients Organization

October marks the 3rd anniversary of the Marijuana Patients Organization, and while we set out initially with the mission to educate our neighbors about the benefits of medical marijuana, we underestimated how much we would actually learn. On a daily basis, in our email box and voice mail, we receive suggestions and questions from patients across the globe and in our home state of Michigan. Questions or requests that we are usually never able to deliver, but we always strive to provide the very best answer.

As an advocacy group we do not sell marijuana. The reality is, are we really helping any one when most people that contact the MPO really just want access to medicine. How can any amount of information be a consolation to potentially life-saving medical marijuana.

Just because an area has legislation allowing for medical marijuana, access is often the issue. What we have learned over the past 3 years is that many legitimate patients in area’s where medical marijuana is lawful, often lack access to the medicine. Below is a recent (and very typical) request from the daughter of a medical marijuana patient. Any one live in Maine that could help Maggie?

Hi,
My mom is 72 years old and she is in severe pain as she was diagnosed with breast cancer metastasis to lung and spine, I have been trying to contact every body to tell me where can I get the hemp oil in Maine, no body answers my phone calls and no body is helping me, my mom is all what I have and I don not know what to do to get her the Hemp oil which is legalized in Maine.

Please Please help me before the cancer spreads more.
